Rune Hilt and Giulietta Racciatti are co-owners and chefs at the Red Dove Tavern in Geneva. Originally Philadelphia natives, Hilt & Racciatti moved to Geneva twelve years ago and opened their small & seasonally driven gastropub in 2007. The Red Dove was one of the first restaurants to inspire the food renaissance in Geneva and continues to execute creative & exciting locally driven dishes.
Rune began his culinary career in State College, PA where he worked the breakfast shift feeding hundreds of college students bacon & eggs at the Corner Room. Throughout his 20’s he waited tables to help pay the rent and finally ended up in Philadelphia working at The Standard Tap & serving as sous chef at Johnny Brenda’s- an experience which tailored his skills & inspired his future in the kitchen. Giulietta had a hodge podge of careers before she found herself owning a restaurant. Her past includes being a cheesemonger at Reading Terminal Market, writing for a community newspaper, serving as a financial coordinator for University of Pennsylvania’s orthopedic research department & working part time at Johnny Brenda’s on the line at brunch.
But mostly the inspiration for entering a life in the kitchen came from her grandparents and some very influential family friends who taught her the joys of food, wine, eating seasonally & eating well.
Matt Venuti is an artist who truly defies categorization. He’s a singer-songwriter, a one-man ensemble and modern day troubadour who tours nearly year-round. He’s a longtime bandleader and a masterful instrumentalist known for playing rare and captivating acoustic and electronic instruments. He’s also a video-artist/producer, a poet and storyteller. His lyrics tell a story from “the rhythm of life” and “the heart of the road”; an honest, soul-filled and often humorous musical journey that is beautifully melodic with entrancing grooves.
Matt accompanies himself playing rare and captivating melodic-percussive acoustic instruments developed in Switzerland, as well as the highly expressive and dynamic Electronic Valve Instrument (EVI) wind-synthesizer that he layers with a looper, He was among the first to explore these instruments and share them with the world.
Matt has a history of performing at major festivals, events and diverse venues throughout the Americas and occasionally abroad, including the Main TED conference and 4 different TEDx conferences. He tours extensively, performing over 100 solo concerts per year. He also performs with his San Francisco-based ensembles, The Venusians, who have a long and successful history in the Bay Area music scene. Matt has multiple album releases, one reached #4 on the CMJ journal and his most recent debuted at #6 on the ZMR top 100. His recordings are all available on your favorite download sites.
